Invisalign Clear Braces
These are the World’s best aligners for Orthodontic treatment. They are as effective as fixed braces in a vast majority of cases (We will give you an honest opinion if your case isn’t suitable for Invisalign). However, they are removable and require excellent patient co-operation for almost guaranteed success.
The advantages are that the appointments are as few as 2-4 times a year. This can be very useful for time-pressed parents and children. They are very useful for students studying abroad and for those who travel for work frequently.
They are also very comfortable and have no emergencies. They are nearly invisible to an untrained eye. They are very easy to clean and also allow good oral hygiene. This can also be useful for kids who don’t maintain oral hygiene.
Patients can eat whatever they want as the aligners are removed while eating and brushing.
The disadvantages are that they don’t work if not worn well enough and they are quite expensive. Understanding that this can be a major factor, our clinic offers a Zero percent EMI loan through a finance company (subject to their evaluation and approval).

Fixed Braces
These can either be Metal or Ceramic. They have been the mainstay of Orthodontics for many years and give consistent results so long as good care is taken of them.
Care to be taken by patients: Good oral hygiene, Avoid breakages and maintain appointments.
Failure to do any of the above can increase the number of appointments, adversely impact the results or increase the treatment duration.
Fixed braces can be the ‘colour’ that some kids love to have on their braces.
Self Ligating Braces
These are popularly called the Damon braces. They do not involve the extra tie wire or the coloured elastic that is needed to secure the wire into the braces. They’re supposed to move teeth faster. But that always comes with riders and type of cases. However, it has been promoted as something that may help you avoid dental extractions for orthodontic treatment. That may not be true in all cases. We often use them in kids and adults.
Jaw Expander & Distalizers
May be needed with fixed braces or aligners
Some patients require a prior phase of jaw expansion just in case their upper jaws are too narrow. Dr Arun Nayak will gladly explain you more about this if you need it.
Orthodontic Microimplants
May be needed with fixed braces or aligners
These are additional supports that are placed in the gums to bring about consistent movement of teeth without side-effects on the other teeth. Dr Arun Nayak will gladly explain you more about this if you need it.
Orthopedic Appliances like Face Mask and Chin Cup
In growing kids, we can help in altering the direction of growth of the jaws for better facial proportions. We use appliances like face masks that can help in enhancing the growth of the upper jaw or chin cups that can help in limiting the growth of the lower jaws.
